MyCiti Bus Network

MyCiti BusThe new MyCiti rapid bus system makes getting around in Cape Town quite easy and affordable. The MyCiti busses have dedicated lanes to ensure that they avoid traffic and keep to their schedules. The bus terminals are well positioned, secure, and beautifully designed.

The busses travel between major hubs (Civic Centre, Blouberg and Cape Town International Airport), with residential feeder busses taking passengers from more than 120 bus stops in the suburbs to the nearest major hub. The feeder busses charge R5 to the closest major hub while bus trips between major hubs are usually R10 per person. The nearest feeder bus stop is just 70m from 407@Blouberg apartment, which also stops at Small Bay (a popular beach for swimming and sunbathing) and Big Bay (a surfers? paradise, which is also located close to a shopping centre). The route extends around lower Table View and ends at the Table View Station, opposite the Bayside Shopping Centre (the largest shopping mall in the area featuring restaurants, popular retail outlets and cinemas). On arrival at the Table View Station, visitors can use the Civic Centre bus to travel to the heart of the city. Busses from the Civic Centre Station also travel to the V&A Waterfront and the trendy city suburb of Gardens.

MyCiti Bus Terminal at the Cape Town International AirportFor visitors travelling via Cape Town International Airport, the MyCiti Airport routes offer a convenient way to get to the airport between 04:20 and 22:00. During peak traffic times, the bus trip to the airport can take up to 55 minutes (off-peak traffic times: 25 minutes), so please plan accordingly and allow for additional time if you plan to use the feeder busses to get to the major bus interchanges.

The MyCiti bus system is still expanding, with new routes opening in early 2013 to link the Table View Station to towns further up the West Coast, as well as expanding the MyCiti network within the city centre and Southern Suburbs.
